Gl «yaio«th. W was held yesterday. - Mr presided. u'pP® .Gatnbirazzi appeared - on reWWfged with drunkenness on the
main road at Otira, on November 12th, with assaulting Henry J. Seebeck, and with breaking the conditions of his release after being convicted of committing mischief on November 10th. He pleaded guilty to all the charges. Senior-Sergeant Roach stated that defendant had been before the Court on November 10th for drunkenness and breaking windows in Fitzgerald Bros.' shop at Otira, and was then convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within sis months. He returned to Otira, and two days afterwards went to Fitzgerald Bros.' store in a drunken state. He got hold of a butcher's knife and threatened to cut his own throat. Seebeck tried to pacify Gambirazzi, who said he would cut Seebeck's throat, and his own afterwards. Seebeck backed out on to the road, and defendant went after him for two or three chains. The Magistrate ordered that a prohibition order be issued against defendant, and on the charge of assault he was fined £2, with costs £3 4s 6d. For using obscene language in Tainui street, Greymouth, .on Friday night, Robert King was fined 10a and ordered to pay 3s car hire. Road to Mitchell's. The gap in the reading system at the southern end of Lake Brunner, where construction work is proceeding under the Public Works Department, will be sufficiently forward to allow for through traffic to Mitchell's during the holidays. The Orangipuku stream on the route is still unbridged. It can be forded by cars under normal weather conditions. The opening of this section of the road will link up the Grey Valley road through Rotomanu and Inchbonnie with the Kumara-to-Hokitika and Greymouth road systems, and will afford an interesting drive for tourists.
