BOROUGH COUNCILS
«. RANGIORA. At the meeting of the Eangiora Borough Council held last evening, there were present: The Mayor (Mr 0. S. Ayers) and Crs. R. R. Gillanders, J. Lindon, B. H. Bailey, O. W. Tyler, C. E. Bell, H. K. Kippenberger, W. Horrell, W. B- Martyn, and W. CarsonWilson. The joint committee reported that the Medical Officer of Health had recommended that portion of the t county on the south side of East Belt be included in the borough, and that the secretary of the Loans Board would submit the Council's application to use portion of the sewer loan money for mtking advances at the next meeting of the Board. It was decided to call lor tenders for the lease of the Town Hall for five years from March 2nd next. The joint committee reported that the cost of installing 3 complete talking picture plant at the Town Hall would be £I6OO. , The Finance Committee s recommendation that the suggestion of the Medical Officer of Health, that the payment on behalf of the sanitary inspector's salary should be doubled should be accepted for one year, was approved. The suggestion of the Finance Committee that the Library Committee should consider ways and means of increasing the number of subscribers to the library was approved. An invitation was received from the Jubilee Park Gates Committee to an official opening of th« memorial gates on November 29th. It was decided to refer the matter back to the committee, recommending that the hour was «nH m weiting mother date.
