Auckland —There was a continuation of boisterous south-westerly weather yesterday. Frequent rain showers were experienced dur. ing the morning, but after midday conditions improved. The barometer has risen to 29.80.
Dunedin—The weather continued unsettled. Yesterday was boisterous, with occasional heavy showers and a strong wind from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 57 degrees. The barometer, which rose about 20 points on Thursday night, is now steady at 29.45. Forecast. General Situation—The recent depression is now .east of New Zealand, and a moderate anti-cyclone is crossing the north Tasman Sea. Pressure is still very low, however, at Chatham Islands, while a slight depression is centred in Bass Strait.
Winds —Moderate to strong south-westerly winds, decreasing, and veering gradually to west, in and south of Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Still rough on the west coast and considerable swell south of Castlepoint. Tasman Sea—Moderate to strong southwesterly winds in the eastern Tasman, veering gradually to west and north; seas rough, but moderating.
