BROADSIDING BEGINS TO-NIGHT.
ATTRACTION AT MONICA PARK. To-night the curtain will rise upon another union, of thrills and roaring speed at Monica Park. Last year, the first of broadsiding in Christchnrch, the sport caught on immensely. Since the close of the 1929 season local riders have attained greater skill with greatly improved machines. Some of them have so far advanced in management of turns and bends that they will scarcely be recognised as the same men. In addiiton to oar own Canterbury champions the thousands present at Monica Paik to-night will see Eric Hamberger and W A. Durkin ("Daredevil" Durkfn) in action. These two riders are famous on Australian tracks. The management emphasises that the tax of threepence on the two shilling seats is at the behest of Parliament, and is reluctantly imposed by the Control Board.
