MAN IFACTURING ENTERPRISE.
By ociiUing to N«w Zealand the first completed oar of ft now model before it hits been seen even in London, the English Rovar Company has demonstrated th« determination of KngliSh motor-car manufacturers to provide for the Dominion market. The cor is the new " Meteor' r model, and Mr K. Lewis, formerly export manager for the company, has come to New Zealand to superintend the importation of cars and open a factory* Uopot so that buyers may bo assured of u. spare parts service and immediate delivery. "'Although export has been neglected in the past, it is the intention of the company to pay particular attention to the New Zealand market in future," said Mr Lewis m the oour&a of an interview. '"Wo already have a partial assembly plant in Wellington, and we hope to oxtond it as time goes on. We were unfortunate in not being able to get the car hcr« in time for tho Motor Khoiv, but it was shipped on the Rangitata as noon as it was completed, and it has alrendv proved itself under New Zealand conditions. "The English manufacturing firms realise that there is ft great field waiting for them here, and they are determined to make a strong bid for it." said Mr Lewis in conclusion. "W r ith the aid of the tariff in our favour, and the sentiment that exists in fa\-our of English goods, We si to getting right out after the New Zealand market."
