"THE BELLE OP NEW YORK"
LAST PERFORMANCE. Tonight will *e© the last performance of "The Belle of New York" at the Theatre Royal. Judging by the audiences of the past week, J. C. Williamson's revival of this old favourite comio opera has been a complete success.
The version of the play has been modernised and brought completely up to date. Oso of the most interesting features of the production is the fact that Leslie Holland was specially engaged to play his old role of Icbabod Bronson. Sidney Burchall, as young Harry Bronson, is another player of good finish and heroic style. As Violet Gray, Romola Hansen is charming and restrained. The role of the pretty Salvation Army lass is one requiring demure and dainty treatment, and this and more aro given to it by Miss Hansen. Jim Gerald has a good comedy role.
