Tho moruins was boisterous, With a wind from the north-west, but there was nu improvement in the afternoon, when the wind changed to the south-west. Towards evening light showers fell, which cleared after V p.m Dunedin—Following heavy rain on Wednesday, the weather was very mißGttlcd yes terday. The Bky was overcast, and several showers fell. The wind was fresh from tho iouth'west. The maximum temperature was 55 degrees. Tho barometer is fairly steady, the reading la&t evening being 29.20. Forecast. General Situation—The recent depression is now passing east of New Zealand, whilo a moderate nntt-eyclono covers tho Tasman Sea, its centre being in the north.
Winds—South-westerly to southerly, mod erate to strong generally, and in places reaching gale force. Seas (N.Z. waters)— Rough on west coast and off shore north of liast Cape, rising bouth of Last Cape.
