Attempts to settle the meat strike in .Sydney have not yet been successful. The efforts are being continued. Mr Justice Piddington's efforts to settle the strike have failed, chiefly on the ground that the strikers declined to give a guarantee of continuity of operations. Tho employers are now going ahead with their application for do-registra-tion of tho Meat Employees' Union, vrfcich embraces the slaughtermen. I! is estimated that the value of export trade already lost is £120,000.
