ADDINGTON BURGESSES.
The Addiugtou Burgesses' Association met last evening, Mr W. H. Griffiths presiding over « large attendance. T A letter was received from Mr n.. *>• Howard, M.P., relating to the request made by the Association for police protection in the Aldington district at night time. Mr Howard wrote that he was in communication with the Minister for Justice (the Hon. o. G. Cobbe) concerning the question. A report from the Social Committee stated that the Association had held two °5 nc ® s and socials, one of which had been a financial success, the other resulting >?. a ' os 1: The Association's picnic to Kairaki Beacn on Labour Day had been an enjoyable ana successful outing. The report was re^eivea. Sir E. J. Howard. M.P. for the district, attended the meeting. and addressed members on matters of interest to the Association. Addington, he said, had been P ticularly fortunate in its requests to the Government, and had in only one instance failed to get what it had asked for Mr Howard was accorded a vote of manse for his talk. , It was decided that the next meeting should be held on Monday, December 15th.
