An attempt to avoid the payment of fees'to the Auckland Hospital Board by a man who received & 1200 in compensation for an injury was nipped in the bud by the detention of debtor as he was boarding a ship at Wellington for England. The man later paid over £.85, which was due to the Board, plus expenses, and was released.
