SCHOOL OF FORESTRY.

DEFINITE DECISION WANTED. (THE PRESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, November 17. Regret that the Minister for Education had given no decision concerning the location of the Dominion School of Forestry was expressed at a meeting of the Auckland University College Council. At present both Auckland University College and Canterbury College have schools of forestry, and some time ago, when the suggestion of eliminating overlapping by the establishment of one school for the Dominion was made, both colleges agreed to abide by the decision of the Aiinister. At the mooting of the council todav. the Registrar, ilr M. R. O'Shea, reported that the Academic Board of the New Zealand University had resolved that as no decision had been given by the Minister, the authorities of the two colleges concerned should be asked to withdraw their undertaking to abide by such decision. "Tho whole thing is absurd, and the present position is extremely wasteful," said Sir George Fowlds, who presided. He suggested that the Minister should be informed of the Academic Board's resolution, and told that unless a decision could be given promptly, the Auckland College would find it neoessarv to agree to the Academic Board's suggestion. The Registrar was instructed to write to tho Minister, and urge that in view of the urgency of the matter, a decision should be giren within the next two or three weeks.
