ROMANTIC RELICS.
SCOTTISH TREASURES FOR LONDON DISPLAY. .Many nobble Scottish families are lending relics and heirlooms rich in tradition and romance for tho Loan Exhibition of Scottish Art and Treasures in London next February. The Countess of Linlithgow is le.ud' ing a, jewelled stomacher and a rope of pearls which were the property of Mary Queen of Scots., The Earl of Airlie is lending the Garter Ribbon of Prince Charlie, and from Lady Carmiehael will come the cap worn by Charles I. when he went to the scaffold, n. handkerchief, and his beautifully illuminated Prayer Book. One section of the exhibition will bo devoted to weapons of different periods. The Earl of Strathmoro, the father of the Duchess of York, has promised two broad-swords. Mr Hugh Walpole, the novelist, is lending the death mask of Sir Walter Scott, and there will be relics of Robert the Bruce, John Knox, and Burns.
