Tony Canzoneri,' a former feather-weight champion, won the world's light-weight crown, when he knocked out A 1 Singer, the defender, in the first round. NEW ZEALAND CHAMPION BEATEN. (P&B89 A6BOCZATIOV TKUCGBAIf.) NEW PLYMOUTH, November 16. Contrary to expectations Llew Edwards, an Australian youth of 18, beat Johnny Leckie, New Zealand champion feather-weight, on Saturday night on points. The fight went the ■whole fifteen rounds, and was a very fine exhibition of boxing. Edwards owed his victory to his great speed. In the early rounds he damaged Leckie's eye. He had a fair margin of points. Edwards proved a surprise packet, the im* preßsion when ho entered the ring, being that he was not fit and the first few rounds scarcely improved his prospects, thongh Leckie could not penetrate his defence. Then, however, the Anstrallan opened out with a barrage of blown and fought like a champion both in defence and attack.
