A BRIEF DISPUTE.

The men selected to man the British Admiralty's chartered tanker Jiucula, wljieh supplies oil fuel to the New Zealand naval squadron, this morning refused to sign on. They alleged that the tanker's reduced manning seale did not provide enough men to carry on. The number of the crew had been reduced by three able seamen, two greasers, two oil burners, and one steward. The men say that to sign on under the reduced seale would be unfair to the many unemployed seamen in Auckland. In the afternoon the men agreed to sign on, and the ship will sail on Monday for San Pedro.
