Deaths iii October totalled 613, a decteasp of 29 as compared with the previous njonth. Of the total deaths, males contributed $53, and females 260. • Fiftythree of the deaths were children under five years of age, being 8.65 per cent. of the whole number. Forty-six of these Were under one year of age.
