Formal recognition by the Norwegian Government of the Canadian title to thG Arctic Islands of Axel, Heiberg, Ellefrinnges, Amundringnes, -.and King Christian, known as the Sverdrup Group, was announced on Tuesday. It removes one possible ground of dispute as to Canadian sovereignty in the whole of the Arctic sector north of the Canadian mainland.
