EAST CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL.
At the la*3fc meeting of the East Christchurch District School Committee there were present: Messrs Samuel Baird (chairman), «T. Maddren, H. S. Brewer, S. W. Constable, A. T. Stokes, Mrs McFarlane, and the headmaster. It was agreed to grant a special holiday to-morrow to allow pupils of City and suburban schools to take part in the annual sports gathering for primary schools on that day. It was also agreed to grant the schools a closed holiday on Monday, November 17th, on account of a promise made by the * Minister for Education on his last visit.- I Mr Maddren reported on beha-lf of the visit- ■ ing committee, saying that the schools were found itt very good order. 'Mr"A. T. Stokes and Mrs McFarlane were appointed to constitute the visiting committee, and to report to next meeting on December Ist, which would bo the last for the present year.
