TEACHING OF OBSTETRICS. (PBKSS ASaOCULTIOK TBLEGaAM.) DUNEDIN, June 17. . During .the recent. obstetrical fund campaign throughout New Zealand ■ a number of telegrams appeared 1 in the Press which, besides-being disparaging to the teaching of obstetrics in Otago Medical School, were erroneous in their (contents. At its meeting to-day the University. Council received letters of protest against, the. telegrams from Drs. Biley and Ritchie., Letters of protest were also received from the.Dunedin branch of the British Medical Association,' and' from the Medical Faculty of Otago University. The Council,: having. considered th.e correspondence, unanimously passed the. following resolution: "That the Council wishes to place on record its appreciation 7 of the valuable services of - its teachers in the obstetrical > department. For many years paet Professor Biley and Dr. Ritchie have both 1 ably performed their -duties, and achieved success in their teaching in the face of considerable difficulties." ;
