The Hon. Mr Nosworthy will perform the opening ceremony at the 19th Annual Show of the Amuri A. and P. Association, to be held at "Hichficld," Waiau, on Tuesday, March 27th. 'Mr A. F. Wright returned .to Christchurch from Wellington yesterday. Mr A. E. T. Read has been appointed manager of the Christchurch branch of Bonds Hosiery Mills (Wellington). Lieutenant-Colonel E. H. Northcroft, of the Army Legal Department, has been awarded the officers' decoration of the Colonial Auxiliary Borces. Sir Douglas McLean has for some years been patron of the Napier .Boxing Association, and at the annual meeting of that body in Napier, he was unanimously re-elected for the coming vea«.
Mr E. Parlane, secretary of the Canterbury Sawmills and Timber Yards' Employees' Union, returned yesterday from Wellington, where he attended the Court of Arbitration in a matter in which the union was concerned. Subject to formal confirmation oj the controlling authority, Mr E. B. Ellerm, who for some years past has acted as librarian and museum curator at tho New Plymouth Carnegie Institute, has been appointed librarian the Leys Institute, Auckland. Mr H. Miller, headmaster of the Masterton West School since its incepci°n in 1920," has been promoted the headmastership of the Hutt Cen tral School. For five years previous to 1920, Mr Miller was first assistant at the Berhampore School, Wellington. Mr H.
