TIMARU B.H.S. V. WAITAKI. » (OFKCIAZ. to TBI FBIBB.) OAMARU, March .23. The annual matches between the Timaru and Waitaki Boys' High Schools' first and second elevens were commenced to-day. Excellent wickets ftad been prepared.
Waitaki seniors were dismissed for 130, Wayne and Nimmo being the only batsmen able effectively to withstand the bowling,- compiling 34. and 74 respectively, the latter including nine boundaries. Timaru ran up 173, chiefly through a solid stand by Mac Donald, who scored 59. The visitors' fielding war particularly good. Vaughan and Mac Donald shared the honours in dismissing the home side, securing four for 35 and four for 12 respectively. Nimmo and Milner were the most effective in Waitaki's attack, taking three for 43 and four for 36 respectively. Timaru secured a lead of 43 runs on the first innings. Waitaki have lost no wickets for 20 in their second innings. Waitaki juniors compiled 74, and Timaru 186 (Dixon 50, Quin 29). In their second innings Waitaki have lost none for 29.
