BURWOOD PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting of the Burwood Progressive Association was held in the Parish Hall on Thursday evening, when the following members were present: Messrs J. Liggins (president), J. McKechnie, TV. EcroydT S. Smith, D. Baud, J. Burnott, A. Cowan, G. Lewis, W. Turner, and L. B. Broadstock. Apologies were received from Messrs 11. K. Todhunter, W. McNabb, J. Young, J. Wetherall. It was decided to writo to the Waimairi County Council pointing out that previous correspondence had not been acknowledged, and to again refer to the existing nuisance on a section in Tra\iß road and to the gorso and broom on the Basaett's road footpath. Mr Burnett reported on the snb-committeo's deputation to the Waimairi County Council. He considered that good would come from the Association's suggestion that certain roads should be tar-sealed. Ho suggested a further deputation in the course of a few months if, in the meantime, no action was taken. The chairman reported that he hud interviewed Mr J Young, curator of the gardens, wiili reference to .suggested improvements to Buxton's rcsoivi! and Hoise •Shoe Luke.
