FIRES.
TILE WORKS DAMAGED. (rRESS . ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) TAUMARUNUI, December 9. About five o'clock this morning fire broke out in Winstone's roofing, brick, and tile works. The blaze was located in the tile drying rooms. The brigade made an excellent save and had the fire under control in half an hour. Considerable damage was done to the building and machinery. The insurances are not available.
