Bishopric of North-West Australia. London, December 9. —The Ecv. Herbert Hyde does not desire to discuss his rejection of the invitation to accept the Bishopric of North-West Australia. He says that he is returning to his old position at Perth. North Adelaide Fire. Adelaide, December 9.—Pire destroyed the Le'cornus Bedding and Cabinet Works-and two adjoining cottages in North Adelaide. The damage totals £30,000. Fatal Wedding Feast. Warsaw,. December 8.-—A guest at a wadding feast in a village near Vilna b mght a shell found on f, aearby battlefield, and started to uns'crew the cap. There was a terrible explosion. The bride and two others were killed outright, and four were mortally injured. The house was demolished. Tin Hare Racing.
Adelaide, Decembor 9.—The Legislative Council passed a Bill prohibiting the introduction of mechanical .hare coursing in South Australia. Melbourne, December 9 The Legislative Council passed a Bill prohibiting betting at mechancial hare course meetings. Chambers Adjourn.
Sydney, December 9.—The Legislative Council passed the Industrial Arbitration Amendment Bill and the Bill prohibiting night betting on licensed racecourses. Both Chambers adjourned till December 20th.
Firemen Gaoled. Sydney, Decombcr 9—Sixteen firemen on the -steamer-Rona were arrested and charged with refusing to take the vessel to sea. The dispute arose ovor the owners refusing the demand of the men, when the steamer entered port, that extra hands be employed to attend to the boilers.
Fire Does £IO,OOO Damage. Sydney, December 9.-Firc in Nana mine destroyed four shops. The dam age is £IO,OOO.
