LIFE-SAVING.

TAYLOR'S MISTAKE CLUB. There lias just been .completed at Taylor's Mistake a protective wall arourfd the lifesaving pavilion. Tho work has been carried out under the supervision o£ the Sumner borough engineer, Mr G. E. Harper, irom specifications supplied by Mr Cyrus Williams, ex-engineer to the Lytteltou Harbour Board. The cost of the wall was approximately £250, and was paid for partly by subsidy from the Government and partly out of the unemployment funds. The Government subsidy, was arranged through the efforts of Mr W. H. Nicholson, Mayor of Sumner, and Mr B. B. Owen carried out the negotiations for a grant from the committee of the unemployment fund. Mr A. P. Osborne, patron of the club, has handed the club's secretary £SO as acontribution to.help defray the club's proportion of the cost of the wall. The club is greatly indebted to Mr Osborne for his munificent contribution, which will place its finances in a strong position, enabling it to further its work in the interests of life-saving.
