FLOWER SHOW.

SUMNER-REDCLIFFS. The Sumner-Redclifle Horticultural Society hold its annual show hi the Sumner Town Hall yesterday. There was a large number of entries, and the display of bioorae was T-articularly blight. Mr W. H. Nicholson, in declaring the show open, expressed his delight at such a wealth of bloom and variety ot exhibit*. He ooiigcatulaUd Uio residents on their keen interest in horticulture, and expressed a hope that the Bocie.ty would reap the reward it deserved for ita continued enterprise. A feature of tho show was the children's classes and the special exhibit of primary and secondary work shown by tho Sumner District High School. The premier certificates were won by Mr T. E. Whitfield and Mr J. D. Edmonds, the former with a hybrid perpetual, Nurse Cavcll, and tho latter with the hybrid tea, Lyon.

Mr W. A. Erasniuson in the morning presented tho society with a solid silver trophy, thn Eras challenge cup, for most points in tho decorative ecction. This was won V>y Mrs T. E. Whitfield.
