Licensing Committee. The quarterly meeting of the Lyttelton Licensing Committee, called for noon yesterday, was not held owing to there being no business to put bofore the committee. Charteris Bay. .
An opportunity of spending a day at Chavteris Bay will be afforded residents of the port on Sunday, a special launch leaving at 9 a.m., and retffrning at about 6 p.m. As the inside of the golf courso is still playablo and in good order, a number of golfers have already decided to make the trip. Personal. Mr A. A. Swabey, organist and choirmaster of Holy Trinity Church, is at present an inmate of the Christchurch Hospital, as a result of a painful accident which befell him on Monday night. Mr Swabey, who is a glazier by trade, was carrying a sheet of glass whos ho tripped and fell. The glass cut his right hand, severing the tendons of four fingers. An operation was performed ou Tuesday, &nd Mr Swabey is making a good recovery. It is not yet known, however* whether th© uso of tho hand will bB permanently impaired or not. lyttelton Bowling Club. During the past two mnths the Society's Institute in Lyttelton has been fairly busy, in spite of the seasonal slackness in shipping.
