SHIPPING NOTES. The motor-vessel Kotiti is to load to-day for Akaroa. The Storm should arrive this morning from Dunedin and Timaru, and is to sail this afternoon for Wellington and Wanganui. The Calm is an expected arrival to-day from Picton. After discharging general cargo and sheep, she will lay up for overhaul. The Kaimanawa arrived yesterday from Portland, via New Plymouth and Wellington. She is discharging coal and cement, and is to sail to day for Westport. The Cygnet sailed last evening for Kaikoura and Wellington, and is due back on Saturday morning. She is timed to load 0:1 Saturday (or the same ports. The Holmdale should be here on Saturday from Dunedin ai)d Tipjaru to take jn cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. The Kamo is expected pn Sunday from Auckland and Wellington. She is to sail on Monday afternoon for Dunedin and Bluff.

The Corinna is to arrive to-morrow in™ from Dunedin. O.imarn. and Timaru. She loads for Nelson and New Plymouth, and sails via Weilinzton. , The Waikouaiti is due to arrive at ton on the 16th inst from Sydney, via Blnff and Dunedin. The Canadian Seigneur should arrive at Lyttelton about the end of next week from Montreal, via Auckland and Wellington, I'rom here sho goes to Timaru and Ouncdin. The American steamer West Calera should arrive at Lyttelton towards the end of next weak from Wellington to discharge cargo from Pacific Coast ports of America. The Canadian Pioneer arrived at Auckland at midnight on Sunday from Napier, and sailed an Monday evening for New York. Boston, and Halifax. The C. and D. Line have besn notified by cable that the Port Denison left Sydney it 7 a.m. on Saturday for New Plymouth, where she was due yesterday morning to commence loading for London. The New Zealand Shipping Co. advise that the Norfolk, on completion of discharge at , Port Chalmer*, will commence oading there, and is to leave that port on Saturday for Wanganui, Picton, and Wellington, nrriving at Wellington on December 16th. From Wellington the Norfolk is to proceed to Napier, Waikokopu, Tokomaru Bay, and Auckland. Tho Norfolk will sail finally from Auckland on January 7th for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpiol Captain A. S. Reay is master of the City of Winchester, at present loading on the New Zealand coast, and his officers are:—Chief, Mr E. Scrymgoour; second, Mr H. Leith; third, Jlr 1?. C. The Chrlstiaan Huygens, the largest mail and passengers vessel built in Holland, was launched during September from the yard of the Nederlandsche Scbeepsbouw Maatschappij, at Amsterdam (reports the "Shipping World"). She has been built for the account of tho Royal Nederland Steamship Corap_ny, and her dimensions are:—Length, 551 ft; breadth, 68ft 61n; depth, 47ft lOin. Ilcr gross tonnage is 16,150, and her displacement is 21,700 tons. She will hare accommodation for 653 passengers, and her crow will number 279,

PERRY SERVICE. To supplement the usual night sailings during Christmas week the Union Steam Ship Company announce that tb? t®rry steamers will run double trips on Friday, December 23rd, and Saturday, December 24th. _ The Maori will sail from Lyttelton on arrival of the 7.45 a.m. train from Christchurch, and the Wahine on arrival of the 6.50 p.m. train. As is usual at thiß timo pf the year, the ferry bookings for the evening sailings are heavy, but there is still plenty of goad I locomnjodaboth classes, available for the two daylight sailings.

PORT CAROLINE SAILS FOR LYTTELTON.

Cabled news has been received by the C. and D. Line that the Port Caroline sailed from London last Saturday afternoon general cargo to discharge at Lyttelton, Dupedin, ?nd Bluff. The vessel ib due at Lyttelton on January 12th. TRAWLER DISABLED.
