. . NAPIER, December 7. Johnnie Leckie (Dunedin), Bst 121b tonight deft 0 d. Mark Carroll (Wanganui), 9st lib, in the fifth of a ten-round professional bout, Carroll's seconds throwing' in the towel. Carroll, though gamo, was no match for the champion.
In a second ten-rounder, Tommy Griffiths (Dunedin), Bst 7ib, out-pointed F. Taylor (Auckland), Bst 3lb, in a clean, willing fight. The decision was not over popular "but there is no doubt that Griffiths ' won although the margin between the two was email.
