Tlie police discredit the story told by M. Marinescu, the Rumanian, who declared that lie had been tired on because lie refused to agree to murder Prince Carol. They disbelieve him especially in view of the fact that nobody heard tile shots.

BUCHAREST. December 5. King Ferdinand's alleged letter in reference to Prince Carol is semi-offi-cially described as a forgery M. Bratiartd, before his death, repudiated the letter. [The late King Ferdinand is reported to have sent a letter to M. Bratiano praying that Carol be asked to ascend the Rumanian throne.]
