John Scott Crawford, a railway truard, who was admitted to the hospital on Friday, suffering from a compound fracture of the droll, did not regain consciousness and died about 4.A) yesterday afternoon. Crawford was on an empty goods train returning to Punedin. An eye-witness, who was in the vicinity of a curve on the north side of Sawyer's Bay, saw Crawford standing at « side door of the van. Apparently he. overbalanced, and fell, striking his head on the rails.
