BURWOOD SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Burwood School Commit-ee was attended by Me«rs J Liggins (chairman), G. Robinson H. Reabv, V. ilcXabb, J. McKcchme, and W. Smyth. Correspondence was received m Mr Stewart regarding the use of St , ew "L Gully for a picnic ground. It w a » dec ded to leavo the arrangements of a picnic untl the January meeting. The headmaster ported that the attendance had been coneiderably reduced during the past fortnight owing to sickness. The necos-iaiy repairs to the tennis court were authorised. Arrangernents wer« made for the sports day, a tenni3 tournament to be held in the morning and a sports carnival to start at 1.30 p.*n.. at which parents will be present. It was decided to hold the annual pnze-giving on the 13th inst. The delegates to the meeting of the proposed New Brighton dental cbmc reported that Burwood would be expected to find a sum of £l3 Cs 8d towards the initial cost. It was agreed to accept the terms, provided two days a month were s« aside to the school. The headmaster reported the receipt of a donation of 10s to the prize fund from Mrs Badger.
