COMBINED CHOIR.
A very appropriate addition to the several very fine programmes already given by various musical organisations in Christchurch during the past few weeks is the rendering of Mendelssohn's magnificent oratorio, "Elijah" by the combined choir on December 13th and 14th. Much time has been spent by the choir in preparation of this great work and it can be confidently expected by musical patrons in Christchurch -that this already popular organisation, under the condnclorship of Mr V C. Peters, with Mr Melville La.wry at the organ, will give a very creditable rendering. The soprano solo part will be taken by Madam Winuie Fraeer, of Oamaru, already well iind popularly known to Christohurch audiences. Tha contralto and tenor parts have been entrusted to Miss Alice Vinsen and Mr L. C. Quane, respectively, both of Christchuxch. The part of the bass singer, on whom much responsibility lies, will be taken by Mr L. Craig, a singer of much' experience, from Timaru. The performances will be given in the Oxford terrace Baptist Church.
