STRAND THEATRE.
DRAMA OF EAST AND WEST. "Never the Twain Shall Meet," which was screened at the Strand Theatre on Saturday for the first time, is based on Kyne's novel, and has for its theme, as may be conjectured, the world-old problem of racial difference. Anita Stewart is cast as the daughter of an island chieftain, beautiful even according to European standards, but with a freedom from the observances of convention that can be expected from an only half-civilised maiden. 'The difficulties that arise when Bert Lyttell brings her to New York form an interesting study. Hoot Gibson, hero of a thousand daredevil Western stories, is admirably cast for the role he plays in "A Hero on Horseback." the supporting picture. Tho othor pictures on the bill completo an excellent programme.
