Tliere are 1,687,000 more women than men in England. Curtains made of artificial silk are superseding in popularity the white cotton varioty so rapidly that there is a dearth of operatives in Britain to make them. A highly-skilled hand may receive as much as £7 a week without overtime. The popular jasz dance, of the All Sports Assembly, will be held at the Albert Hall (Cashel street) to-night. Splendid preparations have been made to ensure patrons a very pleasant evening. Teddy Jones' full Band will supply the latest musical numbers. A feature this evening will be the Christmas fox-trot competition, which is creating a great deal of interest.
