—-'-♦ CANTERBURY DISTRICT COUNCIL. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Canterbury District Council of the Workers' Educational Association was held on Thursday evening, Mr H. D. Acland presiding. Annual Report. The annual report set out that 33 classes were conducted; tho students numbered 1236, and the average attendance was 679. As to women students, u tne figures relating to domestic duties, nurses, and manual workers were taken, they showed that 533 out of 772 were workers. This indicated that the right class of persons making use of thf W.B.A. Tta «om for the year was £624 13s 7d. and the expenditure £596 17s 4d. All the janea activities of the W.R.A. were dealt with. The report was adopted. Election of Officers. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Mr H. D. Acland; ™e-pres.dents, Messrs C. R. N. Mackie and A. H Shrubshall; organising secretary, Mr Geo. .Man ning; hoif. treasurer. Mr W. Davidson; hon. librarian, Mr W. H. .Wicks; hon. auditor, Mr J. Burgess; executive, Messrs b. Koscoe, H Worrall. C. A. Bloomfield, and W. J. McCullough; delegate to Dominion Council, professor J. Shelley: delegates to Dominion conference, Messrs 11. Worrall, C. R.>. Mackie and Professor J. Shelley; W.E.A. delegates to Tutorial Class Committee. Messrs \\. J. McCullough, W. Wood, H. Worrall. and W. Davidson.
