Rollitt. ORARI. On Wednesday afternoon the- marriage of Myrtle Amelia, daughter of Mr and Mrs G. A. Payne, Orari, to Robert, son of Mr J. D. Cornelius, Hilton, was solemnised in the home of the bride. The Rev. J. D. C. Madill, of Geraldinc. performed the ceremony. l The bride, who was. given away by her father, wore a becoming frock of winecoloured marocain, accordion-pleated with a fawn hat to match. She was atended by her sister, Miss Dulcie Payne. Mr C. Brenton, Hilton, attended the bridegroom as best man. Mr and Mrs Cornelius later left ior the north, where the honeymoon will be spent. While returning with the children from the Orari School on Tuesday afternoon the Ohape School bus ran into a small bridge on the Temtika road. The bus was slightly damaged, and, fortunately, few children were in it at the time. Beyond a shaking and a few bruises none of the children was seriously hurt. For the month of November the total rainfall registered at the Orari School amounted to 4.29 inches. The .largest fall on one day. November 27th, amounted to 1.91 inches. Though the weather generally was unreliable and unsettled, sunshine was registered on twenty-one days, and only two frosts were recorded. The rainfall vyas distributed over eighteen days. _ The storm on Sunday evening seriously affected many farmers, in the district, one farmer in the Rangitata losing as many as 150 sheep, another 60, and still another 40. Following Saturday a particularly warm day, the storm op Sunday afternoon and evening was most unfortunate.
