GUN CLUB.
ELLESMERE. A trophy shoot was held by the Ellesmcvc Gun Club on its grounds at Lakeside on Thursday, for trophies given by a vice;president, the Farmers' Co-operative Association, and Mr W. R. Donald. The southerly wind made the shooting tricky/ particularly when tre trap threw the clays at a certain angle. There were 22 competitors, and the shooting was at 15 clays. A. Thian was tho only man to score a possible, and he took the first prize. R. Thian and G. Nairn each missed one, and shot off for the second prize, the former winning. R. G. Power and T. Gordon, with 13 breaks each, shot off for tho third trophy for the best performance by a competitor who had not won a trophy during the season. T. Gordon proved successful. G. Nairn took first money in the sweep. Today the final of the C.A.C. Cup matches will be fired, and the winning team will hold tho cup permanently. The teams competing are Springston, Rangiora, Methven, Ohristchurch, and Ellesmere.
