Salvation Army. Sunday School anniversary services will be conducted at the Salvation Army Hall at 11 a.m. and at 3 and 7 p.m. by Envoy Williams. At the Oddfellows' Hall, on Monday night, a spectacular demonstration will bo given by Christchurch and Lyttelton young people. Garden Party at Diamond Harbour. It is expected that a very large number of visitors will be present at the garden party to be given at Godley House, Diamond Harbour, to-day, in aid of the funds of tho Diamond Harbour Tennis and Golf Clubs. Tho beautiful grounds at Godley House are now at their best: indeed, the wholo of Diamond Harbour is at present » vast garden of summer flowers. There will be many amusing novelties and side-shows, some interesting and useful stalls will offer varied wave, and various competitions will bo held. In tho evening a daneo will be hold at Godley House. Y.W.fI.A. Ou Thursday evening in the Y.W.C.A. club room:;, thu club girls entered into the end-of-year competitions. The guests included "mothers and girl friends of tho club members. The programme of competitions included marching, wand drill, stick drill, book balancing, and action eongs. In marching, "Haeramai" (leader. IJ. Willuiaii) competed with "Watewin" Club (leader ( L. Hughes). Watewin leading with 29 points, Haeramai following with 28. Girl Reserves (leader M. Pascoe) competed with Citizen* in Training (leader, P. Foreman), the Citizens winning by one point. In wand drill. Haeramai and Manawanui Clubs oompeted. Haeramai leudi/ig by four points, and the Gixl Reserves following Manawanui one point behind In the stick drill competition Watewin and Manawanui competed, Manawanui gaining 23 points, Watewin 22 The book balancing competition was won by a narrow margin by Citizens in Training. In the action song contest, Watewin Club gained 28 points and Manawanui Club OS points. An amusing charade given by the Watewin group concluded the events' Miss A. M. Benlhain, general secretary, who acted as judge, complimented the competing clubs on the standard of work shown and on their progress during tho year's club work. Miss Johnstone, secretary for Lyttelton Club work, spoke of the coming conference of Giil Citizens of New Zealand, to be held at Auckland in the Xew Year.
