ALGERIAN FLOODS.
HUGE LOSS OF LIFE. (BI CAB MS—rP.E=3 ASSOCIATION'— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIA* AND N.Z. CAULK ASSOCIATION.) (Received December 2nd, 1 a.m.) PAEIS, December J. }i. Violette, a former Governor-Gener-al of? Algeria, states that the fertile plains of Oran are covered with 8 to 12.inches of mud, rendering them useless for an indefinite period. He estimates that 250 Europeans and 2500 natives are dead. The desolation is hardly imaginable. Perregaux is flooded, and there is no sign of life. Bodies arc floating on the muddy water and it is still raining.
