RICCARTON BOROUGH WATER SUPPLY POLL.
RESIDENTS' NEEDLESS APPUEHENBION. The failure to carry the loan pro* posals whereby Riccarton was to further tap the great natural reservoir that lies beneath the City land suburbs is causing needless apprehension among those who consider their present water supply insufficient. For a few pounds, anyone can avail himself, of thia enormous supply. Hundreds have already installed "Brown Bros." # electric pumps and they go merrily using as much water as they want, regardless altogether of the shortages which from time to time threaten and harass those wholly dependent on tho town supply. Indeed it has been alleged that because so many citizens have solved their water supply problems "off their own bat" their apathy in the matter of voting in the "other fellow's" interest caused the failure to carry the proposals. In anticipation of a rush of enquiries following tho failure of the loan Brown Bros, have prepared at their Showrooms, 690 Colombo street (just over St. Asaph street), ft special working exhibit, which shows at a glance the many superiorities of their • patent pumps. The long list of responsible pump undertakings entrusted to Brown Bros., and their absolute familiarity with local conditions fit them to give reliable and unprejudiced advice to those local residents enterprising enough to install their own water supply. The cost to operato is ridiculously low, being only on« farthing per hour and the outfit costs only £8 15s, easy terms of payment) can be arranged. Brown Brothers' representative will bo pleased to call and give you nil necessary particulars on request. —1
