Mr W. J. Bellingham, musical director of the New Zealand Broadcasting Co., Ltd., is now visiting Auckland. Mr Wm. Reece was a passenger to Wellington by last night's ferry steamer. Guests at the United Service Hotel include:—Messrs C. Milner (Nelson), L F. Elsby (Wellington), C. Mon pier), and K. G. Begg (Wellington). Messrs W. Sullivan (Whakatane), A. Martin (Wellington), J. H. Clifford (Morrinsville). R. H. Webb (Wellington), and A. S. Paterson (Dunedin) are staying at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr P. C. Dwyer, of the Public Trust Office, Christchurch, has been transferred 'to Dunedin as assistant Public Trustee. He will leave for the south this week. Recent arrivals at Warner's 'Hotel include:—Messrs C. W. Rickard, C. W. Shepley, A. W. George, J. Hislop, F. J. Purll, F. D. Thomson, W. dadburn (Wellington), T. Hobson (Ijevin), and O. H. Critchley (Waipawa). Mr G. A. Pascoe has been appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr W. J. Jen'kin, one of the representatives of the Association of Employers, on the Technical College Board of Governors. Colonel Hunter, Director of the Department of Dental Hygiene, is at present in Christchurch. Yesterday he inspected the new school dental clinic at Sumner, and expressed himself very satisfied with it.
The Hon. Mr Justice Stringer, accompanied by Mrs Stringer and his secretary, Mr H. J. Aekins, will leave for Hanmer on Friday and return on Sunday and leave for Wellington on Monday night.
Mr John T. Pettigrav, who has been associated for nineteen years with Messrs Thomas Brown, Ltd., coal importers and distributors, is resigning on superannuation from the position of general manager. Mr Pettigrew, however, retains his seat on the board of directors. Mr H. L. Williams, Wellington manager, has been appointed general manager with headquarters in Wellington. Mr Raynor White, the organist of Trinity Church, Christchurch, lias been appointed organist and choirmaster ot Wanganui College Chapel, in which has just been installed a very fine new electric pneumatic three manual and pedal organ of thoroughly up to date design, built by Lawton and Osborne, of Aberdeen. The instrument is the gift of the Old Boys' Association and is in memory of those of their number who fell in the war. As director of music in the college, conductor of the orchestra and Choral , Society, Mr Raynor White's time will be fully occupied at the college. He has been eleven years in Christchurch and was formerly in King's College, Auckland.
