SOLDIER TEACHERS.

AUCKLAND PROPOSAL. [THE PRESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, November 30. At to-day's meeting of the Board of Education, the chairman (Mr. A. Burns) proposed that representations be made to the Department in favour of tho issue of perpetual certificates to soldier, teachers as a reward for their war services. The chairman said it was beyond question that these men had done their very best,to qualify and it was equally certain that their studies had been interfered with by their state of health. The proposal was heartily taken up by members of the Board who agreed that, although the teachers in question did not hold-certificates, they were rendering efficient service. The Board agreed to act in accordance with the proposal made by the chairman.
