CHRISTCHURCH STOCK EXCHANGE.
A fair volume of business was transacted yesterday, mostly in the banking section. In the stock and bonds section, £SOO 5J per cent. 1927-41 stock was released at £9B 17s 6d, an advance of 2s 6d on last recorded business. Buyers offered £9B 15s for further supplies, but sellers held for £99 2s 6d. 5J per cent. 1930 stock changed hands at £lOl ss, the market closing, buyers £lOl 2s 6d, sellers £lOl 10s. In the banking section, Bank of Adelaide had sales at £8 12a 9d, 20 being turned ove' at that price. The market closed firm with buyers SS 12s, sellers £6 13s E., S., and A. Bank, twenty shares changed bands at £7 12s 9d, more being offered at that price. National of Australasia: Thirty £lO paid were bought at £l7 10? and 100 £5 paid at £8 13s, market closing sellers £l7 10s 6d and £8 13s 6d, no buyers. Bank of New Zealand had some attention and 100 were turned over at 60s 3d, an advance of 3d on Monday's sales. This did not exhaust the supply and sellers offered more at 60s 3d, buyers bidding 60s. In the miscellaneous investment section, South British Insurance had sales of 170 at 56s 9d. New Zealand Insurance wore again in demand, 40s being offered by buyers, sellers wanting 40s 6d. Dalgety and Co had sales at £l3, altogether 100 being turned over at that price. This did not satisfy buyers, who bid £l3 for further supplies, sellers quoting £l3 Is. Goldebrough, Mort and Co. are not in demand and. the Bhares have been dull for some days with ft gradually weakening tendency. The market closed, sellers 47s 6d, no buyers. In tho shipping shares, Huddart-Parker showed a firmer tendency, buyers offering 48s 6d, sellers quoting 49s 6d. P. and O. Deferred Stock was wanted at £248, sellers holding for £270. Frozen meat shares had limited business in New Zealand Refrigerating, sales of theso taking place at 17s Id for the fully paid and 8s 3d for the partlypaid, both prices being an advance on last iecordcd business. Closing quotations were: Fully paid, buyers 17s, sellers 17b Gd; partly paid, buyers 8s 3d, Tellers 8s sd. . Kaiapoi Woollen Co. had a close market, 8s 8d being bid for 4 he 17s paid, sellers wanting 8s 9d. 150 Christchurch 6a3 5s paid were sold at 6s 7d, while quotes for the fully paid were, buyers 24s 6d, sellers 'ils 7d, without any being released. Wellington Gas had a turn over of 300 shares at 27s sd, buyers wanting more at B7s 2d, sellers asking 27s 6d. New Zealand Breweries improved to buyers 435, sellers 445. Carlton Brewery (Melbourne) entered the selling list at 47s Sd. In the miscellaneous section, 200 Electrolytic Zinc (preference) were sold at 31s lid. YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. Sales on 'Change—N.Z.
