HIGH-CLASS CATALOGUE. FIRST OFFERING OF FINE WOOL The four wool sales held in the North Island so far this season represent, approximately, an offering of something near 80,000 bales, or, practically near one-sixth of the Dominion clip, in this quantitv there was very little merino and half bred wool, the class that buyers showed tho most anxiety for. At today's sale at the Caledonian Hall, however, buvcrs will have the first real offering "of this class, as a glance througu tho various catalogues shows a heavy preponderance of halfbred and Corriedale, with a fair number of merino lots. The keen market in the north justifies the assumption that the sale to-day will record highly satisfactory values. The sale will commence at 9 a.m. in tho Caledonian Hall and should terminate about mid-afternoon. Tho City Editor of the "Daily Express" states that there have been a surfeit of Australian loans in the last few months. The average investor likes to spread his capital, and underwriters will not hurry to get rid of their liability as it is certain a demand will arise before long. In tho House of Commons, Captain Backing informed a questioner that he was aware.that some authorities feared a prospective-world shortage in tin.
