THEATRE ROYAL.
"CRADLE SNATCHERS." HILARIOUS FARCE COMING. "Cradle Snatchers," .the farcical comedy coming to Christchurch to-morrow night, is certainly one of tho most hilarious pieces over staged. It keeps the audience rocking with laughter from the rise of tho first curtain till the fall of the last. '' Cr! ! dl f Snatchers" is of American origin, and had a very prosperous season in Nevy lork. The company, which includes artists from London and New York, is a clever one. The perfect team work is a feature of tho production. Three society women have just seen their husbandß off on a shooting expedition, and one of them, Kitty Ladd, startles the company by. announcing that she has a boy coming to sea her that evening. She says she advertised for him, "college student preferred." The other two women want one, too, and the thing is arranged. Then commences the fun, and it is hilarious fun. The parts of the three wives aro played by Olivo Sloanev Bettha Bolmore, and Jessamine Newcome, and they are each very good in their individual ways. The ring-leader of the mischief is Olive Sloane, a clever actress, who has made a great name for herself on the English stago. She has a pecuhnr way of dividing tho last word of a sentence into two slowly pronounced syllables, winch makes people laugh. As the boy flappers, engaged bv the wives to make love to them, Fred. Conyngham, Jack Halloran, and Maury Tuckerman play up to every ounco of tho startling dialogue. Mr Halloran has to pretend that he is a young Spaniard, and he makes love to Olive Sloano like a toreador, ,but with side-splitting results. The husbands Bre capably impersonated by Arthur Cornell, Sidnev Stirling, and Herbert Bellmore, and they add greatly to the fun of a very amusing piece. The box plans arc at The Bristol.
