FARMER'S DEATH.
(PRBBS ASSOCUTIOV TELEGRAM.) CARTERTON, November 29. Edwin James, aged 75, a well-known farmer of Parkville, was found dead last night, shot in the head with a pearifle. Death was instantaneous. Deceased was having tea when, through the electric light failing, the whole family had to assist in completing the milking. The younger daughter, returning to the house about eight o'clock, found her father sitting in an arm-chair in the front room, with a pea-rifle between his knees. He was quite dead. Deceased leaves a widow and a family of nine, mostly grown up.
