HOCKEY.

NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. At a meeting of tho Management Committee of tho New Zealand Hockey Association held last evening, the following letter was received from tho Hockey Association, England, regarding the New Zealand Association's proposal to delete the rule allowing the hooking of sticks. "Thanks for your letter of tho 2Sth May last which 1 will place before my Council on October 28th next. I think your experiment relating to the deletion of the hooking of sticks -rule a good idea, and am anxious to hear the results. I fear that we will not l"e able to send a team to tour New Zealand for some time."
