SERVICE NOTES.

(reou ooa ow» coKEBSPOXDMrr.) LONDON, October 22. On November Ist, Surgeon-Comman-der H. E. Y. White, C.V.0., 0.8. E., is to join the Royal yacht Victoria and Albert, in which Surgeon-Captain A. C. W. Newport, C.V.0., retired, has been medical officer since the middle of 1924. Surgeon-Commander White was in the battle cruiser Renown during the tour of the Duke and Duchess to Australia and New Zealand, and he had previously- served in, the Renown and Repulse during tho' tours of the Prince of Wales. His ships during the war were Commonwealth and the cruiser Proserpine. It is announced by the War Office that the Artillery College will in future be known as the Military College of Science. It is announced that Commander F. D. Mowat will shortly brine to a close his period in command or the sloop Daffodil on the West Coast of Africa. He will be succeeded by Commander Vincent Cardwell, 0.8. E., recently studying at the Senior Officers' Technical Course. From 1922 to 1924 he commanded the sloop Veronica in New Zealand waters. Commander Cardwell was promoted in June, 1921, while in command of H.M.S. Heather, a similar to the Daffodil, then stationed at Qucenstown. His last appointment was as Drafting Commander ,at Chat-; ham Naval Barracks. Appropriately on Trafalgar Day (says "The Times"), the new battleship Nelson, Captain S. J. Meyrick, is to hoist the flag of Vioe-Admiral the Hon. Sir Hubert Brand, Commander-in-Chief of the Atlantic Fleet, in succession to the Revenge, which has carried out this duty for over three years ; since the transfer of the Queen Elizabeth to the Mediterranean. The staff of Vice-Admiral Brand to join the new flagship includes Lieutenant H.R..H. Prince George, among whose duties will be that of interpreter in French.
