AMERICAN MERCHANT MARINE.

(acstbalux and n.z cable association) (Received November. 24th, 9.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON, November 23. The American Merchant Marine on June 30th, 1927, consisted of 25,778 vessels of 16,887,000 tons gross compared with 26,363 vessels of 17,375,000 tons in 1926. Vessels privately owned of 500 tons or over numbered 1957 of 6 836,000 tons, compared with 1996 of 6,732,000 tons last year. There were 879 United States-owned Shipping Board vessels aggregating 4,539,000 tons compared with 1050 of 5,162,000 tons a year ago.
