TRAMWAY BOARD
ELECTIONS. ♦ TO-DAY'S POLL. With one exception, there will be, today, elections for the return of members to the Christchurch Tramway Board in each of the Board's sub-districts. Tho exception is the Kiccarton-Fendal-ton sub-district, where the sitting member, Mr John Wood, the deputy-chair-man of the Board, has been returned unopposed. The booths will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Every elector has only one vote, even though his name appears on tho roll of more than one district. Exceptions are the cases of electors authorised to exercise votes on behalf of companies. Electors may use any polling booth in any sub-district; a Sumner or I New Brighton elector, for instance, can vote at any booth in the City. Following are the candidates for the different sub-districts ("C.A." indicates Citizens' Association's candidates, and "L." Labour): — Central. For the five seats for the Central subdistrict the candidates are:— E. H. Andrews (C.A.). Geo. Ti Booth. (C.A.). J. A. Flesher (C.A.). Wm. Hayward (C.A.). E. J. Howard, M.P. (L.). 11. M. Manning (L.). D. Sykes. One seat has to bo filled. Mr D, Sykes was a member of the old Board. Avon-Brighton. J. N. Harle (L.). W. J. Walter. One seat has to be filled. Mv W. J. Walter was a member of the old Board. Hills-Sumncr. John Barr. Elizabeth B. McCombs (L.). One scat has to be filled. The Hon. Mr Barr, M.L.C., was a member of the old Board. Foiling Places.
